A habit-tracker alternative

Track a change without turning yourself into the score

A conventional habit tracker is excellent when repetition itself is the useful signal. Macro Focus is for changes where context, tradeoffs, and what happened matter as much as whether a box was checked.

In no-charge Limited Access, Focus can hold one manually authored aim, one supporting goal, and up to three total steps across what is in play and parked. It is not an AI change assistant, and it does not include smart reminders.

The exact boundary

Free usefulness and paid provider services are separated here so the page does not imply that AI, voice, or advanced synthesis has no cost.

Included in Limited Access at $0

  • One manually authored Focus aim
  • One supporting goal
  • Up to three total steps across selected and parked states

What Core and Plus add

  • More active aims and deeper Focus capacity
  • Requested AI assistance and tentative Patterns
  • Smart reminders, voice capture, and the complete Notes depth layer

When a habit tracker is the better tool

Choose a dedicated habit tracker when the job is simply to repeat something on a defined cadence and see the repetition clearly. A streak can be motivating when it matches the change and does not distort it.

Choose Macro Focus when missing a week may contain information, when the aim itself may need revision, or when a completed action matters only in relation to a larger direction.

Return without repairing the record first

There is no broken chain to repair. Returning after a day or a season begins with what matters now, not a queue of missed obligations.

That does not make action optional or consequence unreal. It separates learning from self-punishment so the person can decide whether to resume, revise, park, or release the step.

The no-charge fallback is real—and bounded

Limited Access keeps one manual Focus aim and goal with up to three total steps, up to 50 active text Notes, 30 active Journal entries, finite text Wisdom, and the locally scored Big Five 120 assessment. It makes no paid AI or voice-provider calls.

What the card-backed trial actually does

Nothing is charged today. The selected Core or Plus plan begins automatically after 14 days unless you cancel in Settings. Cancel during the trial and complete access continues through its end; the account then moves to Limited Access with no scheduled expiry or recurring charge while the account and service remain available.

Questions worth answering plainly

Limits and exclusions are part of the product choice, not fine print after it.

Does Macro Focus track daily streaks?

No. It keeps chosen weekly steps and completion history, but it does not turn consecutive days into a score or create a backlog after absence.

Is Macro Focus a free AI change assistant?

No. Limited Access is manual and provider-free. Requested AI assistance is part of the complete trial and paid Core or Plus plans.
