General AI alternative
A general AI chat is excellent for quick explanation, brainstorming, drafting, and exploring many kinds of problem. It may be the simplest and most capable choice when the job is just to ask a question and receive a strong answer.
Macro Focus is intentionally narrower. It gives direction, selected context, weekly action, Notes, possible patterns, and source-backed Wisdom distinct places, with explicit choices about what is kept. AI is one requested service inside that structure, not the container for everything.
Free usefulness and paid provider services are separated here so the page does not imply that AI, voice, or advanced synthesis has no cost.
Use a general AI when breadth matters: research assistance, code, documents, tutoring, ideation, or an answer that has nothing to do with maintaining a personal direction over time.
Macro Focus does not try to win that comparison. Its value is the product structure around the exchange and what happens before and after it.
A Macro Focus response is not added to the retained vault unless the person chooses Keep. When memory context is enabled for a paid request, a small selected context can be sent with that request, and the product shows where retained material came from.
This is not a claim that general AI products lack privacy or useful memory. It is a different operating contract for a narrower job.

Nothing is charged today. The selected Core or Plus plan begins automatically after 93 days unless you cancel in Settings. The launch offer ends December 31. Cancel during the trial and complete access continues through its end; the account then moves to Basics with no scheduled expiry or recurring charge while the account and service remain available.

No. A general AI is far broader. Macro Focus is useful when the need is a stable product structure around direction, action, Notes, reflection, retention choices, and return.
Yes. Ordinary manual use does not require an AI request, and Basics makes no paid AI or voice calls. If a paid AI action is started, the relevant text must be processed readably for that request.
